Father Omar Reyes was born in Brooklyn, New York, and is a proud graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School. After serving in the United States Army, he discerned a call to ordained ministry and has now served as an Episcopal priest for over ten years. His journey—from Brooklyn roots to military service to the altar—has shaped a ministry marked by resilience, compassion, and deep gratitude for God’s grace.
He has been married for 28 wonderful years to his wife, Jennifer, whom he met in college. Together they have built a life grounded in faith, friendship, and perseverance. They are the proud parents of three remarkable sons—Azriel, Tennyson, and Vadim—who continually inspire him with their curiosity, strength, and joy.
Father Omar now serves at Castleton Hill Moravian Church in Staten Island, where he is passionate about building a Christ-centered, unified community rooted in worship, discipleship, and service. He loves preaching in ways that engage both heart and mind, drawing from the richness of historic Christian tradition while thoughtfully engaging today’s world—including the creative use of technology for ministry.
Above all, his calling is simple and steady: to help people know Christ more deeply and to cultivate communities grounded in hope, unity, and love.
